About
The Biji-biji Pre Accelerator is a 6-week hybrid journey designed to bridge the “readiness gap” for Malaysia’s high-potential social enterprises and impact businesses.
We know that great impact requires more than just passion; it requires a solid foundation.
This programme is a specialised readiness track for organisations that have built traction and established a clear social mission but need stronger strategic clarity, operational structure, and impact storytelling to prepare for the next level of scaling.
Through a blend of virtual learning and an immersive in-person bootcamp, we aim to help you refine your business model and articulate your vision.

Why Join?
This programme helps you clearly define the change you want to create, understand how your activities lead to real results, and turn your ideas into a strong, scalable business model.
By the end, you’ll have a practical and clear guide that shows how your organisation can earn revenue, grow steadily, and attract funding or partnership opportunities.
Whether you’re a social enterprise or an early-stage impact organisation,
this programme helps you move from idea to clarity, and from clarity to growth.
Who We Are Looking For?
We welcome applications from a diverse range of changemakers. Whether you identify as a social enterprise, an impact organisation, or a mission-driven MSME, we are looking for entities that are operational, generating traction, and ready to refine their strategy.
We define an impact organisation as any entity that places a social or environmental mission at the very heart of its operations.
- Who you are: You may be a registered business, a non-profit, a cooperative, or a community-based organisation. What matters most is your commitment to creating direct, positive change for underserved and marginalised communities or the environment.
- What you do: You are actively addressing critical issues, such as waste management, sustainable agriculture, inclusive employment or more. And, you view financial sustainability as a means to further your cause. If you are driven by purpose but need support to build a robust business structure, you are an impact organisation.
We define a social enterprise as a business that operates for a clear purpose: to improve human well-being or environmental sustainability through a market-driven model.
- Who you are: You are an entrepreneur or an organisation that generates income through the sale of products or services, rather than relying solely on donations or grants. You have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and are either generating revenue or working toward doing so.
- What you do: You use your business model to solve social problems. While you may or may not be accredited yet, you show a strong commitment to achieving this standard and professionalising your impact measurement. You are in the ‘early growth stage’ — you have proof of concept and traction, but you need stronger strategic clarity to prepare for scale.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Who is this programme for?
This programme is designed for Malaysia-based impact organisations with a clear social or environmental mission that benefits underserved communities or the planet. It is best suited for organisations that are past the idea stage, have at least two years of operations or strong, proven traction, and already demonstrate a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) or active revenue stream.
If your organisation feels stuck, lacks strategic clarity or structure, or is not yet ready for major funding or scaling, this programme is designed to help you bridge the gap between doing good and building a scalable, investment-ready business model.
My organisation does not fulfill all criteria that makes the programme a good fit for me, can i still apply?
Yes, we take a holistic view of all applications. Even if you don’t meet every criterion, you are encouraged to apply if you’ve demonstrated real traction, validation, or strong commitment to your mission.
What is the commitment for the programme?
This is a 6-week hybrid journey starting in late February. It requires the commitment of 2 team members. It includes virtual group learning sessions, peer learning circles, and culminates in a 2-day in-person Bootcamp in April.
Do I need to be based in Kuala Lumpur to join?
No. We strongly encourage applications from outside the Klang Valley, including Sabah, Sarawak, and Northern and Southern Peninsular Malaysia.
The only in-person requirement is the 2-day Bootcamp in Kuala Lumpur which participants will need to fund their own travel and logistics.
What will I achieve by the end of the programme?
By the end of the 6 weeks, you will complete a practical Business Growth Plan that maps out how your organisation can earn revenue, grow sustainably, strengthen your impact, and position yourself for funding.
Does this guarantee entry into any programme run by Biji-biji Initiative?
No, participation does not guarantee entry into future programmes. However, this Pre-Accelerator is designed to strengthen your readiness for social innovation and accelerator opportunities. Graduates are better positioned to apply, as the programme addresses common gaps that often lead to application rejections.
What resources are offered by the programme?
Participants will receive expert mentorship and guidance, access to networks and partners, peer learning and alumni perks and opportunities.
Is the programme free?
Yes the programme is free to join, there are no participation fee. Participants will be responsible to fund and manage their own travel and logistics arrangements for the 2-day in-person bootcamp in Mereka, Publika, Kuala Lumpur.
Is this programme the same as SEAM?
No. This programme is not the same as SEAM. It is a Pre-Accelerator designed to help organisations build strong foundations before entering more advanced accelerator programmes like SEAM.
The Pre-Accelerator focuses on clarifying your strategy, Theory of Change, and business model, and strengthening your readiness for growth and funding. SEAM, on the other hand, is a later-stage accelerator that supports organisations that are ready to scale with deeper funding, partnerships, and implementation support.
By joining this programme, will my organisation be engaged in any business relations with the implementing partners and/or funder?
The programme is fully intended to support and empower participating organisations through network resources, expert mentors and learning guidance. Your participation in the programme should not be aimed at establishing a business relationship with the implementing partners and/or programme funders.
